Sebved stripped of SCW captaincy after private life revelations

Comrades,

I trust the squad will hold together in this time of crisis. If not, I've found some hard-working, fruit-loving takers for the squad, see below.

Sebved stripped of SCW captaincy after private life revelations

February 6, 2010 - 1:04PM

Sebved has been stripped of the SCW captaincy by coach Fabio MacGill following a media storm over his private life, and will be replaced by Club Family Man El Playmaka.

MacGill told Sebved of the decision while driving past Eskcanine Emirates, a week after the married North Running holding midfielder lost a High Court battle to ban publication of details of a brief alleged relationship with SCW teammate Hankadonna's then-ladyfriend, Ms Donna Fischer, in the car park outside the SCW venue of choice, The Palace.

"After much thought, I have made the decision that it will be best for me to take the captaincy away from Sebved," MacGill said in a statement.

"As a captain with the team, Sebved has displayed extremely positive behaviour.

"However, I have to take into account other considerations and what is best for all of the SCW squad. The idea that he could claim to have pulled one of Hanker’s chicks has made him a laughing stock."

The 49-year-old Sebved immediately pledged to carry on representing SCW with four months until the World Cup begins in South Africa.

"I fully respect Fabio MacGill's decision," Sebved said. "I will continue to give everything for SCW."

Playmaka, who was vice captain, will assume the captaincy despite concerns over the 51-year-old utility’s fitness and apparent addiction to TiVos.

"When I chose Sebved as captain, I also selected a vice captain. There is no reason to change this decision even though I've no idea what a TiVo is," MacGill said. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the club’s patrons, particularly Lord Frank Sartor and Joe Tripodi for allowing me to make this decision in my own time and in the best interest of the team."

Playmaka also has a blot on his character, missing the 2004 European Championship while serving an eight-month ban for testing negative to all known banned substances at a drugs test at SCW’s training ground. Club Doctor, Buffalo Bill, commented at the time, “He might be the Club Family Man, but this isn’t the sort of example we want to set for the next generation of Wanderers.”

He is currently serving a four-match ban after the SCWFA found him guilty of not elbowing Hull's Craig Fagan with sufficient force. Chairman of the tribunal, Abel Balbo, described the elbow to the former Derby County player’s head as “pathetic”, “girly” and “an embarrassment”. He has played only two matches since spending three months out with injuries.

North Running’s next match is a home friendly against South Running on February 10.

MacGill will be in Warsaw on Sunday for the qualifying draw for the 2012 European Championship.

When asked for further comment, Club Treasurer Sandinista offered, “I don’t give a f#ck and I haven’t seen MacGill in years. Print that, you mongrels.”
