Phantasy League Fiasco Part 3

Oops, who put Nani in my team? (not quite sure how that happened).

PM - I don't think you properly read the e-mail I sent about the EPL FL website apology. It says they've put in a feature that allows EXISTING league to re-start their comp points from week 2, so if we agree to do this we DON'T NEED TO SET UP AND JOIN A NEW COMP! (As administrator you just need to follow the instructions in the EPL FL notice to start the scoring from week 2!!!).

One more thing,

Someone out there has picked up a 10M kip player (you know who you are). The limit, as agreed, is 9.9M, excluding all 10M kip players. How maybe having 3 different teams was intended to get the rest of us confused, maybe you got yourself confused. Judging by the fact that your themed team and your random team both seem to comply but your primary team doesn't (and is still coming last).

Get Nani swapped out, and bring back Suarez while you're at it. You know you want to, and you may as well. Seems like everyone else has.

Yours in dictatorial FPL management...

Clearly the EPL FL has apologized, that's an admission of failure. Therefore the blame does not lie on those who could not get their teams in on time - it was the EPL FL's fault.

Level playing field requires a restart of Classic Wanderers mini-league to Gameweek 2. The 2 that couldn't log on in time (Cagey and Shilin) should get their chance to compete equally. 2 time winning Don Juan does not need a 50 point head start, nor does 2 time winning Playmaker require a 60 point start. Plus I gotta beat Shilin fair and square or he'll never accept his clear inferiority in the Fantasy Beautiful Game...

A compromise option, however could be considered.

A new mini-league has been set up, the "Classic Wanderers2" that starts in Gameweek 2, leaving the original as is (starting Gameweek 1). Additional set of bragging rights - one for level playing field, one for advantage takers.

Just requires everyone to subscribe to one additional league, code is:
XXXX

Also, for those that have more than one team in, can you rename by placing an asterix (*) as prefix for those teams that are NOT your primary team (just for clarity)
.

Play on.

Nothing to see here.

I thought we all (interested parties) got teams in, didn't we? And I don't think anyone got real advantage by breaking the rules did they? So why bother re-starting the clock?

Just fix up whatever rules you broke in week 1, use your unlimited transfers if you wish, and "play on!".

Ok Pretenders,

Here is the real, genuine, "we're so sorry we ruined your lives" apology from the EPL FL:

And it looks like they've also catered for the "project-management-challenged" among us who left it to the last minute to fail to get their teams submitted, by providing the following get-out:

2. Opt to start mini-league scoring at Gameweek 2
The option is available to all mini-league administrators to start the scoring from Gameweek 2. Go to 'Leagues' > 'League name' > 'Administer' > Select 'Gameweek 2' in 'Scoring Starts' drop-down menu and click 'Update league details'.

So looks like this may be an option (?).

Also, if you're really lucky you might be able to win a trip to the UK to get run over during a riot....

‪3. Win a VIP trip to watch Man Utd v Chelsea
The manager of the team that accumulates the most points in Gameweeks 2, 3 & 4 (assuming you can log in) will win a VIP trip for two to watch Man Utd v Chelsea on Sunday 18th September 2011 . The prize includes all transport, two nights' accommodation, match tickets, pre-match hospitality and £250 spending money. If there is a tie between teams, the team with the fewest transfers between Gameweeks 2-4 will win the trip. In the event of a further tie, the winner will be selected at random.

Not that you would know it from the FPL website...
