Playmakers remarkable talent for finding new ways to backheel has landed him accolades on SCW’s pre-season trip to La La Land when the South Coogeeian was substituted to an outstanding ovation only 30 minutes into a friendly against LA LA Galaxy.
Playmaker then became involved in a touchline discussion with his manager, Wazzadonna, which went on for 3 hours, well after the game was finished, when Balbo finally managed to get a word in.
The PlayMaker ™ had gone clean through on goal a few minutes earlier but, rather than finishing off an easy chance, he turned full circle, flicking the ball behind his legs and trying to score with a backheel. It was a remarkable act of self-indulgence and, as the ball went wide, several of his team-mates, particularly Comrade, could be seen celebrating with him. PM’s only comment to the media was “Luck I’ve got a TiVo because I can now go home and watch this over and over again”
