Phantasy League Amendments Bill 45A is TABLED

Note new 3B (PM is back) and slight amendment to rule 5 based on Cardinal’s Divine Intervention.

Please send your votes in.

I for one am voting as outlined below and I urge my fellow Wanderers to do the same.

Phantasy League Amendments Bill 45A

  1. Max 1 player allowed from each team in the league (suggest much easier to do this way than 2 from 3 teams)
  2. Max 9.9 kip expenditure on players
  3. A. You must captain your cheapest player and VC your keeper - Lanky was right you can’t VC a benched player

3. B. We all select one player and captain that player (courtesy of PM amidst ricotta pastizzi)

  1. You must choose any 2 players from the promoted teams (Norwich, QPR and Swansea)
  2. Max expenditure of 5.9 kip on players from Manure, Sheicity, Chelski, Liverpool (allow Arsenal as per balbo’s moral high ground and incl Cardinal’s variation)
  3. Every player is allowed one reserve team (reserve team must be chosen on a theme – a la Uruayan all stars etc). Maybe enter this in a different league?

Amendment Bill 45A Adoption Process

  1. I propose anyone can add rules or versions of the above rules until Thursday 9am AEST (allowing for some discussion after the game this week).
  2. On Thursday PM collates all the various rules and disseminates them (PM wins the ‘community shield award’ coz he won the comp last year)
  3. We hold a vote on each of these rules on Thursday closing Friday 9am. AEST
  4. If there are more AYES than NAYS for a rule, it is in, otherwise it is out (i.e. a tie = out). A non-vote for any rule is counted as an abstaining vote and does not influence the vote.
  5. PM disseminates outcomes Friday 12pm AEST

Over and out.

I think we should apply the KISS principle.

While I get the motivation for most of the proposed rule changes, in some cases, I don't see that there is great value returned for the extra complexity in MANAGING (auditing) the rule.

For eggsample:
Rule 1)
Does it really have a vast change in effect to the provision of Max3PlayersFromANyOneTeam rule already enforced by the platform? I reckon not.
Either leave as the "naturally controlled" 3/team rule or propose something ridiculous like your starting XI must include players from 11 teams.

I vote to leave it as the conventional 3/team rule already provided for.

Rule 3
Proposed: Captain your keeper & VC your sub keeper
Fair enough, although I would reckon captiaining your CHEAPEST player would be more fun (although more complex to manage).

[PS: are we sure that you will be able to VC a benched player?]

I vote: Captain your CHEAPEST player & VC your Keeper

Rule 4
Pauline Hansen response: "I don't like it"
There generally will be fewer good players to choose from in the crap teams - we will all choose the same ones. Robert Huth anyone? May as well keep the picking simple where possible.

There doesn’t appear to be enough discussion. Hence, I declare that the rules shall be

  1. Max 2 players allowed from any 3 teams in the league
  2. Max 10 kip expenditure on players
  3. You must captain your goalkeeper (and VC your spare)
  4. You must choose and 2 players from the promoted teams (whoever those crap teams are)
  5. PM must have Gerrard and Lampard in his team every week (despite their long injury layoffs)

I am ok with all these rules (excluding Balbo's variations to kip limit and rule#1 - sorry Balbo!) and I add the following:

7. Sandinista has to provide a detailed report each week on compliance of each team with the rules, incorporating any back-calculations/corrections for every previous occurrence of a rule broken by a Manager. (should keep him busy)

8. Playmaker can add any rules he likes and gets to codify them.

Yours in chaos,

6. double points for 2 Nevilles and a Butt (maybe even quadruple points because didn’t 1 neville retire and surely butt doesn’t have a contract anymore

I reckon an 11 kip limit is the go - lots of inflation at the moment so I'm having trouble re-financing my 100 kip. Getting Sandinista to 'rebalance' the books and up my deficit limit.

Comments:
1. fine, except Arsenal, as I must keep some moral high ground.
2. fine - I guess we would all lose out equally on lost point for the transfers.
3. fine - there is a vice-captain this year to can use that if goalie doesn't play.
4. fine
5. ....we get to put 'academic research' teams in, such as a team made up of ex-Big Sam managed players, to see how they compare.

Its back and Playmaker is quietly confident of defending his title this year. Cardinal has somehow avoided relegation for the 3rd season in a row. Balbo is resurgent after discovering a new found interest in the league.

They have changed the format this year but it appears that not much else has changed.

I propose that we keep the same competition unless anyone has any better suggestions. I also suggest we keep our rule from last year (players under 10kip only) and I also propose that we add a new rule coz if you.re not tinkering you.re not doing your job. Some random rules that I have been thinking about:

  1. Only 1 player allowed from any one team in the league (no flaws that I can think of)
  2. Forced wildcard – we choose a week and everyone must dump there entire team (flaw - too much effort for the wanderers)
  3. You must captain your goalkeeper (flaw – what if your goalkepper doesn’t play)
  4. You must choose and play 3 players from the promoted teams (flaw- can just put em on bench)
  5. …..add your rule here
